Indulás előtt

A repülőtérről

Silvio Pettirossi International Airport (ASU) is about 15km from the center. Official airport taxis cost around 150,000-200,000 PYG ($20-27) to downtown. Ride-hailing apps (Bolt/Uber) are cheaper at ~80,000 PYG ($11). Public bus line 30-A goes to the city center for about 7,000 PYG ($1) but can be crowded with luggage.

Közlekedés a városban

The Centro Histórico and Loma San Jerónimo are very walkable. Distances between major sights in the center are short. However, sidewalks can be uneven, and crossing large avenues requires caution. To reach neighborhoods like Villa Morra, you'll need transport.

Helyi tippek

  • Carry small bills (Guaraníes) in the thousands and tens of thousands. Many small shops, taxis, and market stalls struggle to change 100,000 PYG notes (approx. $15).
  • Learn a few basic Guaraní phrases. Saying 'Mba'éichapa' (hello) and 'Aguyje' (thank you) will earn you huge smiles and open doors that Spanish alone cannot.
  • Always accept an offer of tereré. Refusing is considered rude. It's a sacred social ritual; you drink from the bombilla (metal straw), say 'gracias', and pass it back to the server.
