Dzień 3: Lac Rose (wycieczka jednodniowa)

45 min - 1 hour by car/taxi.

An otherworldly salt lake whose color shifts to vibrant pink due to algae, best seen in the dry season. It's also famous for its salt harvesters and as the finishing point of the Dakar Rally.

Najważniejsze: Viewing the pink hues, Watching salt collectors at work, Floating in the hyper-saline water, Visiting a Fulani village

Jeśli masz jeszcze jeden dzień: Île de Gorée

20 min by ferry from Port de Dakar. To już poza planem na 3 dni: lepiej poświęcić na to cały dzień, niż wciskać w jeden z nich.

A UNESCO World Heritage site and a profoundly moving pilgrimage into the history of the Atlantic slave trade. The island is also strikingly beautiful, with colorful colonial houses and no cars.

Najważniejsze: Maison des Esclaves and Door of No Return, Historical Museum of Senegal, Colorful colonial architecture, Art galleries and quiet cafes

Przed wyjazdem

Z lotniska

Blaise Diagne International Airport (DSS) is about 50km from the city center. The official airport taxi fare to Plateau is fixed at 15,000-20,000 XOF (€23-30). A cheaper option is the shuttle bus to the city's Gare Routière de Petersen (2,500 XOF), then a taxi to your final destination.

Poruszanie się po mieście

The Plateau city center is fairly walkable, with sidewalks and key sights close together. Other neighborhoods like Almadies are more spread out, requiring taxis or rideshares to get around.

Lokalne wskazówki

  • Learn a few Wolof phrases. A simple 'Salaam aleikum' (hello) or 'Jërejëf' (thank you) will open doors and earn you smiles far more than French alone.
  • For the best grilled fish, head to the beach in Yoff or Ouakam in the late afternoon and pick a dibiterie where the locals are eating. Point to the fish you want, and it will be cooked fresh for you.
  • Always carry small denominations of CFA francs (XOF). Large bills are often difficult to break for taxis, market stalls, and street vendors.
