With 5 days in Lanzarote, you'll have time to experience the city's highlights. The island owes much of its character to the artist and architect César Manrique, who campaigned to keep high-rise development off the island and turned lava tubes, caves and viewpoints into extraordinary works of art and architecture, from the Jameos del Agua to the Mirador del Río. His influence is why Lanzarote was declared a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve.
